Getting to Morocco: Passports and Visas
Passports
To be able to visit Morocco, you need to have a valid passport. To avoid any unnecessary problems, make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months, or better yet, 1 year.
In some banks, you will be asked to produce your passport if you want to exchange currency.
Your passport is also necessary for you to be able to rent a car in Morocco.
You can stay in Morocco as a tourists for up to 3 months from the day of your entry (this is for foreign nationals who do not need a visa for Morocco).
Important: When entering Morocco, make sure that the border police agent has stamped a number in your passport (something like W123456, for example), in addition to the standard stamp with the name of the entry point and the date. Because if you don't have this number in you passport, you could encounter problems when leaving Morocco. Normally, this number is always stamped in your passport and there haven't been any cases where problems arose. But to err on the side of caution, just check your passport after the officer at the border gives it back to you.
Visas
The bearers of passports of the countries on the list below do not need a visa to be able to enter Morocco.
If your country does not figure on the list below, you need a visa to be able to visit Morocco. For a list of needed documents to apply for a Moroccan visa and to download the application form, please visit the website of Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
